Vizio announced today its second-year collaboration with the American Film Institute, highlighted by a sponsorship of AFI Fest 2015 presented by Audi. Designed to celebrate the art of filmmaking, the partnership connects filmmaking with the at-home entertainment experience.

On display at this year's festival, the Vizio Reference Series 4K Ultra HD collection is the industry's first-ever complete High Dynamic Range solution with Dolby Vision playback technology.

Vizio will host the closing night gala of AFI Fest, featuring a red carpet celebration and world premiere presentation of The Big Short, directed by Adam McKay. Based on the book by Michael Lewis, The Big Short stars Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt.  The Big Short world premiere will take place at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood on November 12th. Vizio will also be hosting a soon to-be-announced special event in the Dolby Theater on November 8th.

"For the second year, Vizio is thrilled to collaborate with AFI Fest and merge the worlds of technology and filmmaking," said Matt McRae, Vizio chief technology officer.  "With the unprecedented picture quality and audio advancements of our Reference Series collection, Vizio is committed to supporting the vision of cinematographers, directors of photography and directors to ensure the experience they intended for the cinema, carries over to home audiences."

Festival-guests and filmmakers will have a chance to interact with the Vizio Reference Series 4K Ultra HD collection throughout AFI Fest 2015 in the Vizio HDR Lounge located in the Roosevelt Hotel. Product specialists will be on-hand to give demonstrations highlighting the high-end Reference Series' role in home entertainment.  Additionally, AFI will host technology panels for directors, cinematographers and pass holders in the Vizio HDR Lounge throughout the weekend of November 7-8.
