The creative team behind VariousArtistsTV.com, an online network for independent filmmakers to showcase their work, will be accepting submissions November 1 for their new online film festival competition, the Various Artists Independent Film Festival. The festival accepts submissions from filmmakers of all ages, ethnic groups and backgrounds from all over the world in various categories and genres.

VAiFF is a year-round competition, with filmmakers securing nominations every three months throughout the year.  These nominees will then compete in the live annual festival, taking place in Chicago, Illinois in next October.

There are nine categories. The top 10 selections in each category will have their films available for screening by the public and global members of social media for voting. The films with the most positive viewer responses at the end of 30 days will receive the first nomination in each category for the yearly festival.  This process continues throughout the year until all four-nomination spots are filled with the best/most voted for films of their genre. The grand finale winners will be announced live October 2017.  Nominees and winners will receive cash prizes, customized awards, distribution opportunities, and several filmmaking tools.

Zohra Hasta, VAiFF director and managing partner of VariousArtistsTV.com, said, “My partners and I believe that the industry has changed with the renaissance of social media but the festival circuit has yet to capitalize on the largely productive opportunities it creates for filmmakers.”
