Feature Film “Rune” to be released as Free iPod Video Download
Rune, a new independent film is billing itself as the first
feature ever to be released as a free iPod video download.
Rune was created by Arayna Thomas and S.E. Kenlon and asks
what if you could do something about it? What if there was a way to break
down language barriers and enable all people to understand each other's
words regardless of their native tongue? This prospect is about to cost
linguist Anna Russeau all she's worked for and quite possibly her life.
“We tackled a somewhat impossible yet revolutionary situation
with the film—our plethora of languages is one of God’s fundamental
punishments,” Thomas begins. “So the concept of breaking
down languages to their common source or core, fully realized, would
eliminate all language barriers on the planet overnight. Therefore, we
felt Rune’s distribution method should be as timely and
as comprehensive as possible, and the burgeoning popularity of video
iPod and digital downloads gives any filmmaker unprecedented access to
a wide audience. It’s the new movie theatre for independent filmmakers.”
“And to further mangle the Biblical similes,” Kenlon continues, “like
a cinematic David swinging at Goliath, we felt it was especially apt
and timely that Paramount’s Babel might in fact lead people
who want to dig deeper into this aspect of Babel to see our film.”
