Reel Cinemas has announced that it is now adding 19 Barco flagship laser projectors to its portfolio, which Barco Gold Partner CineTech ME JLT will install this year. In addition, Reel Cinemas has invested in Barco Escape, Barco’s three-screen panoramic movie theater.
Earlier in 2016, Reel Cinemas installed an extensive fleet of Barco flagship laser projectors in The Dubai Mall Cineplex, making it the largest all-flagship laser theater in the world.

Differentiating their offering even further, Reel Cinemas also chose to invest in the Barco Escape immersive panoramic viewing format. Installed at the largest theater at The Dubai Mall Cineplex, Barco Escape combines a 170-degree field of view with all of the vivacity and realism of Barco projection technology, giving moviegoers the most immersive, and realistic cinema experience yet.
Barco Escape utilizes Barco Alchemy processing to deliver up to 120 frames per second on each of three screens. Theaters can be built to accommodate the format or easily retrofitted to do so, and are capable of displaying regular movie formats when the Barco Escape setup is not in use.
