More2Screen has been appointed the worldwide distributor (outside the United States) for the Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance series, the first ever dance series from the U.S. to be screened to a global cinema audience.
Curated and produced by the internationally renowned Lincoln Center in New York, the series features exceptional artistic performances from four leading American dance companies, filmed in HD and 5.1 Surround Sound especially for the big screen.
The series releases from January 1, 2016 with the perennial Christmas treat, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker from the New York City Ballet, described by the New York Post as “the Christmas show of all Christmas shows.” This will be followed by one of the all-time favorite romantic ballets, Romeo & Juliet from the San Francisco Ballet, a signature production for the company choreographed by Artistic Director Helgi Tomasson and released on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2016.
For spring 2016 the very best in modern dance comes to cinemas with a mixed program from the acclaimed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, featuring Chroma, Grace, Takademe and the iconic Revelations – this will be an absolute must-see for dance fans around the world. The series comes to a dramatic close with a superb double-bill from Ballet Hispanico, the leading Latino dance company in the U.S., showcasing Latin dancing at its very best with Carmen maquia and Club Havana.
Christine Costello, managing director, More2Screen said, "We are delighted to be working with Lincoln Center to bring the first ever dance series from the US to our exhibition partners worldwide.
