Manios Digital & Film will showcase new products from Cartoni, Kinotehnik, PAG and Vocas at Cine Gear, June 4-7 at The Studios at Paramount in Hollywood. Included among several products not previously seen on the West Coast will be PAG’s new Gold Mount (3-Stud Snap-On) compatible, high-current, PAGlink battery, a replacement for all Anton/Bauer Li-Ion batteries. The new battery, which made it onto several “Best of” lists at NAB, is compatible with Gold Mount camera plates and Anton/Bauer Li-Ion chargers, and can be can be linked to create a high-capacity Li-Ion power source on location.
Also new to Cine Gear is the Manios MD7 Field Monitor. Designed for DSLR cameras, the device is less than an inch thick and weighs only 12.9 oz., while delivering high resolution (1280×800), high brightness (400 cd/m2) and high contrast (800:1). Key features include record/run control for DSLR cameras, a safety marker, check field, freeze input, peaking, and a histogram for exposure. Yet its cost is less than $450.
New from Cartoni is Smart Pro, a low-cost fluid head for camera payloads up to 13 lbs. (6 kg). Based on Cartoni’s best-selling HiDVFluid Head, Smart Pro offers a variety of innovative touches including ergonomic knobs for ease-of-use, better control and a more fluid touch on drag and counterbalance. Also on view will be an upgraded version of the best-selling head, Focus HD, for cameras up to 26 lbs. (12 kg); Stabilo, a new compact, lightweight, 3-stage, carbon fiber tripod; the Smart Stop ENG tripod; E-REM 25, a new remote control head; and an upgraded version of the classic Master MK II camera head.
Kinotehnik will be showing newly upgraded versions of its LCDVF and LCDVFe viewfinders for DSLRs. LCDVF now includes diopter correction as a standard feature.
Voca Systems’ newest matte boxes, rail supports and focus controllers will also be shown. MB-455 and the MB-435 are ungraded versions of the company’s most popular matte boxes with a maximum lens diameter of 143mm. BP-18, Vocas’s new 19mm dovetail rail support, can be used to mount a variety of large, heavy cameras including the Sony F65 and various Arri cameras, and can also be used lighter cameras such as the Red Epic and Scarlet via a new spacer.
