Li of Pi Mixed and Released in Dolby Atmos

Twentieth Century Fox and Dolby Laboratories have announced that Academy Award winning director Ang Lee’s visually stunning work Life of Pi will be mixed and released in Dolby Atmos Dolby’s new audio platform for production and exhibition. “Today we are pleased to announce Life of Pi will be our third Dolby Atmos title ” said Chris Aronson president domestic distribution Twentieth Century Fox. “We have been very impressed with the ability of Dolby Atmos to deliver a new level of storytelling with the soundscapes for Taken 2 and Chasing Mavericks and expect Dolby Atmos to deliver an amazing experience for audiences with Life of Pi.” Re-recording mixers Doug Hemphill and Ron Bartlett were at the helm of the Life of Pi Dolby Atmos mix. Based on the best-selling novel by Yann Martel Life of Pi follows the story of an Indian boy named Pi a zookeeper's son who finds himself in the company of a hyena zebra orangutan and a Bengal tiger after a shipwreck sets them adrift in the Pacific Ocean. The film is being released on November 21st.
