Award winning supervising sound editors Peter Brown, Scott Hecker and Dave McMoyler have joined Formosa Group, a talent-based post-production sound company serving film, television, interactive, music and commercial clients.

"We are pleased to welcome Peter, Scott and Dave to Formosa Group's outstanding roster of sound talent," said Robert C. Rosenthal, president and chief operating officer. "Each of these accomplished sound artists has the experience and ability to supervise sound for films ranging from independent dramas to the largest studio action adventure films."

"Formosa Group was my number one choice when my former employer closed its doors," said Peter Brown. "I look forward to collaborating with the incredible group of artists at Formosa in this exciting new chapter."

Brown realized that the sound profession was a good match for his skills and temperament after receiving his MFA in film production from USC. Before joining Formosa Group he had an eight-year tenure at The Creative Cafe followed by a ten-year stint at Soundelux. Brown's supervising sound editor credits include most of the Fast & Furious franchise, the Paranormal Activity franchise, Birdman, and All the Pretty Horses. Brown is the recipient of a Primetime Emmy Award for Game of Thrones, and is currently working on Fast & Furious 7.

"I'm very excited to join this esteemed group of sound artists at a company that is passionate, focused and committed to the art of sound editing and design," said Scott Hecker.

Hecker first became interested in sound when he worked as a driver and apprentice for Angel Editorial (later Blue Light Sound). After 12 years establishing his career at Blue Light, he worked independently for a decade. Following stints at Todd-AO and Soundelux, he served as the director of sound editorial and a supervising sound editor for Universal Studios Editorial for the last 12 years. Hecker's supervising sound editor credits include Man of Steel, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Watchmen, August Rush, 300, The Cooler, and Meet Joe Black. Hecker is an Oscar nominee for Road to Perdition, multiple Golden Reel winner and is set to work on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

"Moving to Formosa Group is like coming home," said Dave McMoyler. "I have worked with many of the firm's artists throughout the past 20 years."

Dave McMoyler first developed a keen ear for unique sound design while attending the film program at Humboldt State University. After graduating, he migrated to Southern California and worked as a writer, producer and editor of documentary films. A brief stint at a television sound editorial company stoked his passion for post audio, as he mastered all aspects of sound design and editing. In 1991, he began a 24-year association with Soundelux, a period of growth and achievement for which he is extremely grateful, and he is so glad to be reunited with many of the colleagues with whom he saw his career blossom. McMoyler's supervising sound editor credits include Final Destination and three of its sequels, R.I.P.D., RED, Flight Plan, Freddy vs. Jason, and The Crow. McMoyler is an Oscar nominee for The Mask of Zorro, two-time Emmy winner, and is set to work on Insurgent.

Formed in 2013 by parent company Picture Head, Formosa Group is a post-production sound company dedicated to offering the best talent and facilities to filmmakers and content creators. Based at The Lot in West Hollywood, the company also has a second West Hollywood location, along with West LA and Burbank locations. Formosa Group will soon re-open the facility formerly known as POP Sound (Pacific Ocean Post) in Santa Monica.
