The sixth annual Downtown Tyler Film Festival will be held September 21-24 at Liberty Hall in Tyler, Texas. "Our film festival had very humble beginnings and has grown into an international event, attracting films from Tyler, throughout Texas, across the U.S., and around the world," said Beverly Abell, City of Tyler Main Street department leader.
Different categories of film will be shown each night including short films, young filmmaker short films, and a special East Texas short films category.
In addition to screening the films, this year attendees will be able to participate in workshops Saturday, September 24 including Screenwriting & Storyboarding and Making Movies on a Shoestring Budget.
Downtown Tyler Film Festival is currently accepting entries until the end of July. Filmmakers have the chance to win cash prizes for winning films. Award categories include Best of the Fest, Best East Texas Film, Best Young Filmmaker, and Audience Favorite.
