Cineplex to Upgrade 28 Theatres in Peru and Chile

Cineplex S.A. which owns both Cineplanet and Movieland circuits in Peru and Chile has signed with Barco and Bardan Cinema to upgrade its 28 theatres to digital technology. Peru has been experiencing exponential growth in cinema admissions during the past decade with ticket sales increasing 185 percent in the last seven years according to the latest estimates from Cinedatos Peru’s research. While much of the growth can be attributed to the urbanization and expanding economies of the country’s major cities growing interest in cinema can also be attributed to modernization of theaters with premium amenities and 3D technology.
