Bardan Cinema, a full-service distributor and digital cinema integrator serving Latin America, worked with Barco to upgrade Cineplanet’s 200-plus movie theaters.

Cineplanet has modernized its theaters with premium amenities and the best 3D technology to meet the demands of an increasingly sophisticated audience. This included a diverse lineup of digital cinema projectors offered by Barco, from their compact DP2K-10Sx with integrated media server for smaller auditoriums to the DP4K-32B for its largest movie houses.

“In placing our trust with Bardan and Barco, we knew that we would receive the hands-on attention and unwavering dedication to our needs necessary to achieve a smooth conversion of our cinemas,” said Fernando Soriano, CEO for Cineplex S.A. “We also highly value their superior customer service and support, which will ensure reliable operation of these outstanding projectors for years to come.”

“We are honored to celebrate the completion of Cineplanet’s digital conversion, which represents a new era in progressive cinema entertainment in Latin America,” said Ney Corsino, senior vice president, international sales for Barco. “We look forward to their next phase of digital cinema deployments, which will strengthen our presence here, bringing expanded resources to the region for the benefit of all exhibitors.”

“I’m sure I speak for Barco as well as for us here at Bardan when I say that we deeply appreciate the opportunity to continue serving Cineplanet as they move so solidly into the next era of cinema,” said Daniel Benitez, CTO for Bardan Cinema. “The coming years promise to be very exciting ones in the world of cinema and we are grateful to be working with such strong partners on both sides of the equation: reliable vendors like Barco and bold, motivated exhibitors like Cineplanet that are always looking to better serve their patrons.”
