Cinemagic – a Mexican cinema chain that takes the modern, high-tech movie theatre experience into smaller communities in Mexico – has committed to install 180 units of GDC Technology’s SX-3000 Standalone Integrated Media Block (SX-3000 IMB) over the next three years.

Cinemagic, the second largest independent exhibitor in Mexico, has an aggressive expansion plan.  Founded in 2005, it currently manages a total of 77 screens at 15 movie complexes throughout Mexico and has confirmed it will expand its footprint into the United States and Guatemala.

The newly purchased IMBs will be installed at Cinemagic’s new complexes in Mexico, Guatemala and the United States in three phases: they will be fitted in 60 individual theatres, across 10 locations, in each of the next three years. Cinemagic’s expansion will contribute significantly to its goal of delivering affordable, high-quality entertainment options for all moviegoers.

Roberto Quintero, CEO of Cinemagic said, “GDC Technology has been a strategic partner for Cinemagic. After considering all the options in the market, we selected GDC Technology based on the server’s quality, in-country tech support, and competitive offer.”

Dr. Man-Nang Chong, founder and CEO of GDC Technology said, “We are delighted to be selected by Cinemagic, demonstrating once again our superior technology, product quality, reliable local support and commitment to bringing the best in digital cinema to all moviegoers. In partnering with Cinemagic, we are committed to providing high quality cinema solutions to help grow its business in the years to come.”
