Christie will showcase a range of innovative digital cinema projection and audio technologies and lobby displays at Expocine 2014 at the Centro de Convenções Frei Caneca in São Paulo, Brazil, November 10-11, Booth # 22.
Held for the first time, Expocine is the first trade fair exclusively for Latin America’s exhibitors, distributors and suppliers of technologies, services and products for the exhibition market. The event will include presentations and discussion panels with market professionals, screenings, press conferences, a tradeshow with 37 booths, and the most up-to-date news for the market.

Additionally, Tavares will join a team of local industry experts who represent the cinema industry technology sector for a panel discussion titled “What is the greatest challenge for the post digitalization cinema?” which will take place on November 11 at 10:00 a.m. Specialists’ anticipate that by year-end 90 percent of Brazilian screens will be fully digital. Now cinema owners have to think about what the future holds, beyond digitalization. To answer this question, Expocine will hold this forum with professionals from different areas of the industry to talk about the next step, and about the challenges that exhibitors and producers will face after the complete digitalization.
Among the items that will be showcase by Christie is Christie Vive Audio, the world’s first audio system powered by Christie’s innovative wall and ceiling surround speakers, which feature unique, ribbon-driver technology in a parabolic line array design, purposely built for the cinema environment. Products on display in Christie’s booth will include the S215 (subwoofer) with LA1 line array speaker. The Christie Vive Audio system is specially designed to support any of the leading cinema audio formats, including Dolby Atmos.
Also included within the Christie showcase at Expocine 2014 is the highly regarded Christie Solaria One. Crafted for use with screens up to 35 feet wide, this digital cinema projection solution comes complete with a motorized lens, custom-designed Xenon lamp, 2D and 3D capability, brightness of 8,000 lumens within the DCI color space and more than 9000 lumens when presenting alternative content, and a Christie Integrated Media Block (IMB) with its own, easy to operate Screen Management Software (SMS).
Christie will also exhibit some products from its wide range of options for digital signage in cinema lobbies, including the award-winning Christie MicroTiles and the Christie FHD651-T flat panel.

In March 2013, Christie opened its first office and showroom in South America, which is located in São Paulo, Brazil, and provides in-region customer service and support, most notably in the digital cinema market, where Christie already has an established and growing customer base. Recently, digital cinema projectors from Christie have been deployed in different cinema chains in Brazil, including Kinoplex Brasil, Cinematográfica Araújo, Arco-Íris Cinemas and Grupo Cine Cinemas.
