The Canon Project Imaginat10n Film Contest is officially open to aspiring filmmakers through July 23. Ron and Bryce Dallas Howard will judge the submitted films and five films will premiere at the Project Imaginat10n Film Festival this fall.

Project Imaginat10n even had a reference in Netflix’s recently re-launched Arrested Development Season 4. Ron Howard, who narrates the series, shares in Episode 4, "I don't know if you know this about me, but most of my movies are based on still photographs that I find truly inspiring."

The new contest enables filmmakers of all skill levels to sit in the director’s seat and create short films inspired by consumer submitted photographs.  Five celebrity directors are also taking part in this creative exercise – Eva Longoria, Jamie Foxx, Biz Stone (co-founder of Twitter), Georgina Chapman (designer and co-founder of Marchesa) and James Murphy (founder of LCD SoundSystem).

Last year, Bryce Dallas Howard directed “when you find me,” a short film inspired by photographs.  Bryce will now utilize her experience to mentor other filmmakers in an online webisode series called, Bryce’s Project Imaginat10n Film Contest Tutorial.

Submissions can be uploaded at: imagination.usa.canon.com
