The 13th Annual Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is now accepting submissions for the festival which takes place in Missoula, Montana February 19-28, 2016. The festival is now offering cash awards to winners.

BSDFF accepts submissions of non-fiction films of all forms, genres, subject matter, and lengths. BSDFF has recently been added to an exclusive list of Oscar-qualifying festivals to compete in the 2017 Documentary Short Category.

During the ten-day festival, BSDFF will showcase world and U.S. premieres back-to-back with classics, rare, and experimental documentaries for more than 20,000 enthusiastic attendees.  In addition to films, BSDFF hosts a variety of public and VIP events, as well as the Big Sky DocShop—a four-day industry forum featuring panel discussions, workshops and pitch sessions with some of the industry’s most influential professionals.

Our 2016 DocShop will focus on Films for Changes: Media Activism.

Held in the mountain town of Missoula, Montana, the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is the largest documentary film festival in the American West, and a must-see destination for filmmakers and documentary devotees the world over.
