Post-production finishing for the fifth season of Teen Wolf is currently underway at Chainsaw, a Sim Group company. The MTV series about an awkward high school student who is secretly a werewolf, is among cable’s most popular scripted series among young adults and was recently renewed for a sixth season.
Two-time Oscar nominee John Mathieson BSC (Gladiator, The Phantom of the Opera, Robin Hood, 47 Ronin) recently completed work on The Man from U.N.C.L.E., an update of the stylish 1960s television series of the same name. Mathieson says that he would have preferred to shoot film, but that the demise of some of the major film laboratories in the U.K. made it impossible. He did shoot a little bit of 16mm film on a wind-up Bolex (processed at Bucks Laboratories) for the opening of the film, to bridge some archival footage from the period with the main storyline. In some ways, the colors and textures of the period production design lent themselves to digital, he says.

In a project spanning many months and two continents, Modern VideoFilm provided final post-production services for Broken Horses, the new Western thriller from Indian producer/director Vidhu Vinod Chopra in his Hollywood debut. The Burbank-based facility provided editorial conforming, color grading, visual effects production and integration, DCP mastering and deliverables for the film, which makes its U.S. theatrical premiere this month from Reliance Entertainment.
KEO Films incorporated Forscene into the remote production workflow for Bangkok Airport, its latest nonfiction project for the BBC. The filmmakers say Forscene not only served as a remote-viewing and second edit system, but also provided an efficient method of logging and translation. The resulting workflow let producers and editors in London and Glasgow, Scotland, review and edit content without delay, and at the same time collaborate with the camera crews in Thailand on the ongoing shoot.
