GDC Technology today launched TmsAware, a new cloud based solution powered by Amazon Web Service serverless architecture. The most recent development of cloud computing, which caters to web applications, was initially used for cost savings and efficiency. But the cloud has turned into an innovation powerhouse. GDC developed TmsAware to have a significant effect on the cinema’s operation process.
GDC Technology has introduced the SR-5400 and the SR-6400 series media servers with Flexible Architecture Stable Technology (FAST) for 4K high frame rate movies and 4K 3D. The SR-5400 is compatible with new DLP Cinema projectors that are capable of playing DCP content in 4K 3D and 4K@60fps. The SR-6400C has all the key features and benefits of the SR-5400 and further enhances its capabilities to include ground breaking 4K@120fps playback. It is compatible with the new Christie projector featuring RealLaser illumination and CineLife+.
GDC Technology will be Cinemex’s exclusive provider of digital cinema servers for the calendar year 2019. Cinemex is Mexico’s second largest theatre circuit and operates 2,936 screens at 340 sites in 99 cities such as Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Toluca, Juarez, Leon, Tijuana, Mexicali, Puebla and other Mexican cities. The agreement involves the deployment of the GDC SR-1000 Standalone Integrated Media Block at all of Cinemex’s new construction projects in Mexico.
GDC Technology has introduced several new products including an expanded capability to manage up to 30 screens with a centralized cinema automation system, two 4K high frame rate and 4K 3D media server series and a bespoke all-in-in media server designed for cinema display technologies.
Unique X has signed a long term renewal agreement with the UK’s market leading cinema advertising company, Digital Cinema Media, for advertising and distribution services. Utilizing Unique’s Advertising Accord advertising management software, the technology platform integrates and fully automates the advertising workflow from DCM’s Campaign Planner and Sales Booking system, for campaign delivery, directly into each individual cinema’s scheduled showtimes
Cielo Cinema announced today that it will be releasing the latest version of its Cielo Cinema Platform, 5.18. The enhanced version of the platform focuses on building and adding major functionality to previous releases. This includes a new innovative IoT and M2M mobile application to meet ever-growing platform challenges.
Arts Alliance Media announced today that they are significantly extending their technological partnership with the Cineworld Group, one of the world’s largest exhibition companies. Following Cineworld’s recent acquisition of Regal Cinemas in the USA, the exhibitor has decided to automate their scheduling and content management using Screenwriter in Regal Cinemas’ 7,361 screens, and expand Producer’s coverage across Cineworld’s entire portfolio, which includes Picturehouse, Cinema City, Cineworld, and Regal Cinemas. AAM will also provide third line technical support to the new sites.
Unique X has expanded its operations in South East Asia in a new deal with fast-growing Indonesian cinema chain, Cinemaxx. The agreement will see Unique X install RosettaBridge theatre management system, RosettaNet and Basekey key delivery message management systems across all 47 Cinemaxx sites, currently incorporating a total of 239 screens.
Broadsign today announced that its technology will power dynamic pre-show experiences across Landmark Cinemas, Canada’s second largest motion picture theatre exhibition company with 319 screens spanning 45 cinemas. Landmark will also utilize Broadsign in its two new theatres opening in 2019, Market Mall in Calgary and Aurora in Regina.
Cines Unidos, Venezuela, is installing 230 Toshiba T10 point-of-sales systems within 188 locations before summer.
