The Ymagis Group today announced the launch of a professional license program for its EclairColor high dynamic range system in favor of independent film laboratories, content services companies and projection system integrators. EclairColor used by filmmakers and content creators to significantly enhance the cinema experience by bringing richer colors, greater brightness and definition, more depth of field and more density to the screen.

The Society of Camera Operators has announced the honorees of the Lifetime Achievement Awards, Camera Operator of the Year for both the film and television categories. The recipients will be announced at the February 3 Awards hosted at the Loews Hollywood Hotel.

Director Jake Kasdan has introduced many clever twists to the action-adventure, and that created plenty of opportunities for the film’s sound crew to get creative with sound. All sound services were completed at Sony Pictures Post Production Services.
FotoKem was the facility of choice for providing comprehensive creative and technical services from pre-production through final deliverables on the critically acclaimed Star Wars: The Last Jedi from Disney/Lucasfilm. The facility built technically advanced solutions that supported the creative team through their interplanetary production from dailies to color grade.
RealD today filed a complaint with the District Court (Landgericht) in Düsseldorf, alleging that Volfoni SAS, Volfoni GmbH and CinemaNext Deutschland have infringed three of RealD’s European patents by the importation, sale, or offer for sale of the Volfoni SmartCrystal Diamond cinema systems in Germany. In the complaint, RealD requests an injunction banning the sale of the infringing devices and seeks financial damages.
Wonder Wheel, from Amazon Studios, reunites Allen with veteran cinematographer Vittorio Storaro, who was behind the camera for Allen’s Café Society, where his cinematography earned the biggest raves from critics reviewing the film. The movie also reunites colorist Anthony Raffaele of Technicolor PostWorks New York and DIT Simone d’Arcangelo.
Australian exhibitor Hoyts has purchased and undisclosed number of Christies’ newly introduced CP4325-RGB pure laser cinema projector. The projectors will be installed at Hoyts’ upcoming flagship all RGB laser cinema complex located in Docklands, Melbourne, as well as in Auckland-based post-production house Department of Post.
