11 Dollar Bill Opens Raleigh, North Carolina Facility

The independent post-production house 11 Dollar Bill has opened a facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. The site boasts resources for creative editorial, design, motion graphics and animation as well as color correction and editorial finishing. It shares a high-speed connection with the company’s studios in Chicago and Boulder, allowing teams in the three locations to share resources and collaborate on projects. The Raleigh site will serve advertising agencies and brands in North Carolina and throughout the Southeast, as well as film and television productions based in the region.

Colorist Jane Tolmachyov Joins Goldcrest Post

Former DuArt senior colorist Jane Tolmachyov has joined Goldcrest Post. Tolmachyov brings credits across feature films, television and advertising, but is best known for her work in documentaries and film restoration. She has collaborated with directors Frederick Wiseman, Ken and Rick Burns and Michael Moore, as well as such highly regarded cinematographers as Nestor Almendros, Fred Elms and Ed Lachman. Her first project at Goldcrest is 2nd Chance, a documentary from producer/director Ramin Bahrani, slated to premier at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

ECA Adds Mathe and Correia to Board of Directors

The Event Cinema Association has named two people to its board of directors. They are Katrin Mathe, international event cinema manager for Kinepolis and Laura Correia, vice president film & event cinema, National Amusements. The additions firmly cement the renewed direction for the ECA in 2022, the ten-year anniversary since the association was established. The appointments are part of a particular drive to increase the organization’s visibility, which was started by Grainne Peat, who became ECA’s managing director in 2018.

New Effort Provides Production Training for Native American Students

The Cherokee Nation Film Office and the Oklahoma Film & Television Academy are partnering to help educate Native American students to be set-ready as industry continues to grow in Oklahoma. The tribe’s film office recently sponsored and hosted OFTA’s Set Ready course at Cherokee Nation’s COVID Response Virtual Soundstage. Through CNFO scholarships, Native American students attended the course at no charge.

Periscope Announces Three New Hires

Full service post-production services provider Periscope Post & Audio, with facilities in Hollywood, and Chicago, has added veteran re-recording mixer Terry O’Bright to its Hollywood facility. Periscope has also hired Bruce Dobrin as chief engineer and Michael Sable as a director of business development.
