NEC Display Solutions projector solutions, announced today the appointment of Reiner Doetzkies as director, cinema business and technology. Doetzkies brings nearly two decades of cinema technology experience to NEC where he will be responsible for supporting the global company — including Japan, America, and Europe — in its cinema business and technology development. FilmLight has named Andy Minuth as its color workflow specialist. Minuth, originally from Germany, was most recently lead colorist at 1000Volt Post Production in Istanbul. There he was responsible for the grade of commercials as well as feature films.

Ymagis Group today reported its consolidated financial results for the third quarter 2017 and first nine months of the 2017 fiscal year, ending September 30. Ymagis Group’s activities resumed growth, with the consolidated financial results for Q3 2017 slightly up at €43.2 million, for an increase of +2.1 percent, driven by the group’s services activities.

Motion picture and television sound executive Paul Rodriguez passed away September 26th in Los Angeles of cardiac arrest after a brief hospitalization. He was 65. Rodriguez was president of South Lake Audio Services and vice president of audio services and development at Roundabout Entertainment in Burbank where he oversaw post-production sound for projects including HBO’s Westworld.
Ymagis Group today reported its earnings and consolidated financial results for the first half year of 2017 ending June 30, as approved by the Group’s board of directors following its meeting on September 29. As of June 30, 2017, Ymagis Group’s revenues are slightly down by 1.5 percent at €82.3M compared to €83.6M for the same period last year. The strong acceleration in activities from the Eclair Business Unit, for which the recent acquisitions are the main growth driver, does not compensate the less important contribution during the first half-year of equipment sales by the CinemaNext Business Unit and the first effects of VPF recoupments.
