THX, Cinionic and Nordisk Film Cinema, today announced their collaboration to launch the first THX Ultimate Cinema in Europe, to be deployed at the Nordisk Film crown jewel, the historic Imperial Theatre in Copenhagen. THX Ultimate Cinema powered by Cinionic Giant Screen provides movie exhibitors with a branded and differentiated premium large format offering which includes laser projection from Cinionic, an immersive audio system, as well as acoustic and performance specifications and an auditorium experience that has been calibrated by THX.

Venice Upgrades Taoyuan City Cinema

Venice Cinemas has deployed a suite of innovative projection and content management solutions to deliver awe-inspiring visuals in its upgraded multiplex in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. Located in the bustling business district of Zhongli, Venice Cinemas is spread across two buildings connected by an iconic, red-colored pedestrian bridge reminiscent of those found in Venice, Italy. It recently underwent a major facelift by adding five new halls at the basement level, boosting the total number of cinema auditoriums from 10 to 15. These five new halls are equipped with 8.5-meter (27.8 foot) screens, adorned in special color schemes, and connected to a spacious lobby featuring highly immersive waterfall projections that accentuates the multiplex’s distinctive aquatic theme.

Nite Owl Theatre has created a laser projection drive-in cinema experience in the heart of Miami, Florida. Featuring a 53-foot screen, the Knight Foundation-backed theatre can accommodate between 65-70 cars per screening. CCM Cinemas Installs Costa Rica’s First Laser Projectors

Costa Rican cinema chain CCM Cinemas has opened the country’s first movie theatre equipped with an RGB pure laser projector. The cinema, located at Plaza Occidente multiplex in San Ramón, the country’s second largest city, has installed a Christie CP2315-RGB projector, as well as Christie Vive Audio speakers and Dolby Atmos sound.
