Christie announced that is the official digital projection partner of the 43rd Toronto International Film Festival, the world’s largest public film festival. This marks the eighteenth year in a row that the company has provided technology for the festival. Taking place from September 6-16, the Toronto International Film Festival garners global attention annually, screening almost 350 feature films and shorts, hosting 20 galas and attracting a veritable Who’s Who of international movie luminaries.
Filmmaker Megan Griffiths has announced that she and producers Lacey Leavitt and Jennessa West will independently release her acclaimed drama Sadie. Working with creative distribution strategist Mia Bruno, the film will begin its roll out in New York and Los Angeles on October 12.
The producers of the Conscious Cartoons International Animation Festival, which starts September 14-16 on Vashon Island, Washington, are calling it the first of its kind worldwide. The Fourth Annual Asian World Film Festival will once again be held in Culver City, California with opening night scheduled for October 24 and closing night November 1. This year's theme will focus on the female empowerment, said the festival’s executive director Georges N. Chamchoum.

In addition, film fans outside of New York will have the chance to participate in a Tribeca Film Festival retrospective event on the big screen for the first time ever.

The patented technology Cinema Anywhere, a public screening platform from Israeli start-up Muvix, is on display at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Cinema Anywhere provides public screening as a service, and enables on-demand screening of any content in any public place, indoors and outdoors. During the festival, Muvix will operate a smart cinema in the Israeli pavilion, where films of Israeli filmmakers will be screened to festival visitors.
