Sim Group Leases Former Kodak Building

The Sim Group has entered into a long-term lease for a 65,000 square foot space at the historic Eastman Kodak building off Las Palmas in Hollywood. The company will undertake a multi-million dollar build-out of the facility, currently known as Hollywood Office Campus, to house the Los Angeles operations of its companies Chainsaw, Sim Digital and Bling Digital.

Cinépolis Installs Barco Escape Format

Cinépolis, one of the world’s largest exhibitors, is installing Latin America’s first Barco Escape theater at its Paseo Acoxpa Mexico City location. Twentieth Century Fox’s Maze Runner 2: The Scorch Trials will be the first film released in Latin America in Barco’s multi-screen, fully immersive movie format when it premieres on September 11.

Fourth Long Beach International Film Festival Begins September 24

The Long Beach International Film Festival will be celebrating its fourth anniversary as they bring a fresh line up of exciting films from around the world to Long Island. Taking place September 24-27th primarily in the City of Long Beach, New York the event will once again branch off into Rockville Centre as well. There are also three new screening venues to expand its film programming, along with filmmaker’s lounges and after parties at local restaurants and hotels. The September 24 opening night at Madison Theatre at Molloy College features Lamotta: The Bronx Bull, a feature film from director Martin Guigui starring William Forsythe, Paul Sorvino, Joe Mantegna and Tom Sizemore exploring the tumultuous life of boxer Jake LaMotta.

Tattersall Adds Dolby Atmos-Certified Mixing Theatre

Diversity Focus of SMPTE 2015

The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, today announced that the SMPTE 2015 Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition, October 27-29 in Hollywood, California, and related events will focus on fostering the presence and engagement of diversity in the industry, enriching it with colleagues representing a greater variety of experiences, perspectives, and voices.
