Kinoplex deployed a wide variety of Christie cinema projectors, due to the huge range of screen sizes and projection distances at its film theatres, including CP2215, CP2220, and CP2230 units that deliver value with reliability and low total cost of ownership.
After months of speculation, there is now an official name for Barco’s joint venture with Appotronix and China Film Company announced late last year: Cinionic. The monster-sized action adventure Rampage is coming to theaters in the 4DX and ScreenX formats. The film, headlined by action superstar Dwayne Johnson, will be released worldwide April 13 from Warner Bros. Pictures.
MoviePass today announced a partnership with Flix Brewhouse, which calls itself the nation’s only cinema circuit that pairs full service in-theatre dining with an award-winning craft brewery at every location. Started in 2011, Flix Brewhouse is based in Round Rock, Texas and operates locations there as well as in Iowa, Indiana, New Mexico. Its newest theatre, in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex, is expected to open in April.
AMC plans to open Saudi Arabia’s first cinema theatre, in Riyadh, on April 18. It marks the first time a commercial cinema theatre has opened in the country in nearly four decades. Reports say the first movie screened in the Kingdom will be Marvel’s Black Panther. With a population of more than 32 million, the majority under the age of 30, Saudi Arabia is set to become the largest market for moviegoers in the Arabian Gulf region. The Kingdom is set to have nearly 350 cinemas, with more than 2,500 screens, by 2030.
