Viva Pictures and DirecTV have acquired U.S. rights to Exeter, a feature film from the director of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th and the producers of Paranormal Activity and Insidious. The film will debut exclusively on DirecTV on July 2 followed by a theatrical release by Viva Pictures later this year.
Woodland Hills-based Hollywood Software has signed a deal with Andrew Karpen’s independent film distribution company, Bleecker Street, to exclusively utilize Hollywood Software’s new Distributor 3.0 software for all upcoming film releases. The software implementation will be in place in time for the first of Bleecker Street’s 2015 film releases, I’ll See You In My Dreams, starring Blythe Danner and Sam Elliott, which will open in theaters on May 15.
At the request of several major theatre chains the WARx2 movie release date has been delayed from March 20 to April 24. Instead of the limited release to mainly Texas theatres that was originally planned, WARx2 movie will be released nationwide on April 24.
