Evergrande Cinema Line has selected GDC Technology as its technology partner for its cineplexes in China. GDC will provide approximately 300 SX-3000 Standalone Integrated Media Blocks and 30 Theatre Management Systems. As of August 13 systems have been deployed in 15 Evergrande cineplexes.
Transformers: Age of Extinction, a blockbuster produced by Paramount and Jiaflix was the highest grossing imported film in Mainland China for the first half of 2014. The movie is the China Movie Media Group’s first collaboration with a U.S. Studio, Paramount Pictures.
Arts Alliance Media has announced that its theatre management system Screenwriter now features full integration with The IMAX Experience, allowing screens in IMAX cinemas to be controlled with one simple, automated workflow. The 17th Shanghai International Film Festival opened with the screening of the classic Chinese film Stage Sisters, which has been fully restored in 4K. Directed by the late Chinese director Xie Jin and first released in 1964, the 50-year-old film is now widely regarded as Xie’s masterpiece.

In tandem, it will team with its first U.S. studio, Paramount Pictures, to launch the marketing of Transformers: Age of Extinction (TF4) in China, a movie that has incorporated many Chinese elements and locations.
Evergrande Real Estate Group, one of the ten largest real estate developers in Mainland China, is expanding its business to the cinema industry. In an initial phase, the Evergrande Cinema Line is building 77 cinema complexes in residential neighborhoods across the country, five of which are already operational.
Broadway Circuit, one of the largest cinema circuits in Hong Kong with 62 screens in 12 theatres has reported a film delivery rate of 99.99 percent in 2013. The theatre credited GDC Technology for its success in presenting more than 150,000 performances that year.
Wanda Cinema Line, a subsidiary of Dalian Wanda Group Corporation, has selected software from Arts Alliance Media to manage cinema screens in its new build sites in China. The deal, completed through AAM’s Chinese reseller partner, ACE (Shanghai) Digital System will equip 270 screens with AAM’s theatre management system, Screenwriter, to manage their content, playlists and scheduling.
AAM’s partnership in China with ACE will see ACE representing AAM across China and reselling AAM digital cinema software to exhibitors and integrators.
