MoviePass announced today that it has exceeded three million paying subscribers since announcing its low-cost subscription plans last August. The company says MoviePass’ rapid growth is within its projections that estimate the service will exceed five million paying subscribers by the end of 2018.
The Kuwait National Cinema Company has signed an agreement with CJ 4DPlex to bring its panoramic film-viewing experience ScreenX to the Middle East. The agreement represents the first ScreenX screen to be installed Kuwait.

The Laser Illuminated Projector Association reports that as of the end of 2017, the global installed base of high-end RGB laser projectors had reached nearly 700, an increase of nearly 100 percent since 2016, according to industry analysts at IHS Markit. In addition, the analyst firm also reported that, according to industry sales figures estimates, the number of laser phosphor projectors installed in cinemas has now surpassed 10,000; again an approximately 100 percent growth rate over the previous year.
