An Independent Feature Gets a Red Carpet Premiere Revscope Pictures is hosting a Hollywood style movie premiere for the release of Silent a gothic-comedy about an outlandish girl who is cursed with a 'real' voice in a silent-film world.  The screening will take place on November 16 at the renowned Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum.   Silent was written and directed by Chatham resident and award winning director Michael Pleckaitis who co-produced the film with his wife Andrea.  Pleckaitis who is best known for his two previous films Trees and its sequel The Root of All Evil wanted to give his latest creation the Hollywood premiere it deserves. According to Pleskaitis “Done in the vein of a silent movie from the earliest days of cinema this happy little silent medium suddenly finds itself in total calamity when heroine Abigaile Archibald (Katie Ritz) suddenly develops a speaking voice in a world that is otherwise silent. Delighted she secretly indulges in the joys of talking and singing – until the townspeople launch a witch-hunt to find the source of the mysterious sound. With all of the appearances of an original silent film Silent brings together the multiple genres of the silent film era with a unique twist for a whole new generation of fans to enjoy.” A traditional movie premiere is fitting for Silent because it's an old fashioned film.  From the searchlights to the limousines to the red carpet we are pulling out all the stops says Pleckaitis.  The goal is to honor the hard work of our cast and crew while at the same time showcasing what we all believe is a very special film. The film is coming off a very successful screening at the Reel Jersey Film Festival in Rutherford New Jersey where Pleckaitis and Silent received excellent reviews.  Arrow in the Head film critic raves Writer/director Michael Pleckaitis has created something that was by far one of the most original and strangely satisfying film experiences that I have ever had.  I can honestly say that you've never seen anything like it and probably never will. Guests are scheduled to arrive at 5:00 pm to a red carpet welcome and a live musical performance by Crista Orefice accompanied by the film's composer Tom Destefano.  The actual viewing of the film will begin at 6:30pm immediately followed by a VIP after party.   Tickets for the premiere are $30 and include admission to the VIP catered event following the screening.
